CB-1 weight and balance info needed
Hello all,
I'm trying to help a friend who just purchased a CB-1. The weight and balance for the plane was lost and we are trying to create a new one. Any info on the weighing procedure, C.G. limits, or a sample weight and balance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Ben

Here are the figures for NX1279 level using the lower wing l/e as the datum.
Right main 447 lbs @ -14.25"
Left main 457 lbs @ -14.25"
T/w 48 lbs @ 152.5"
Stagger 24"
L/E of MAC -13.2" (.55 x -24")
C/P limits of 18%-33% MAC = -4.2" to +3.3"
Arms:
Fuel -4.25"
Passenger -4.0"
Pilot 30.25"
Baggage 57.5"

What is the distance from the datum to your prop flange?

Thanks for the reply and info Mark! What did you use as a leveling point? We were thinking the upper longeron.

The upper longerons were used for the leveling points. I don't know the distance from the datum to the prop flange. It wasn't a dimension required for the calculations, so we didn't measure it.

Here is the info that I used to create the W&B for our Hatz: http://www.hatzbiplane.com/BratzCG.html
I've also attached a xls file that I used for a while to plot our W&B.

Mark…… Would it be too much to ask that next time you are near your Hatz, please take a tape measure and find out what the measurement is from the prop flange to the datum? I don't need a precise measurement from leveled aircraft……. Just a measurement.
Please……. Thank you.

It's about 66 1/2" from the leading edge of the lower wing to the front of my prop flange.
